A blanket of acceptance
Settles heavily upon me.
Deceitfully it promises relief
As its damp release
Gnaws into my bones,
Destroying me like sun does ice.
Smothered in this deathly wrap
My dreams are crushed,
Shattered into tiny drops
Of hope that was.
To form sad, silent rivers
Solemnly carrying you away from me.
Taking part of me.
What is left is an incomplete me,
The one you chose to flee.
